Who pays the most taxes?
With so many school levies on the ballot this year, our paper did this story on how we got to this point.
The story contained this very informative graphic on not just school taxes, but property tax increases over the past 10 years, and who pays the most (Would you be surprised to learn it’s Middletown?):
What do you think?

I rather comment on Jones and the $100,000 payout by the county but the Journal isn’t going to give us readers that opportunity.

I’m a homeowner and pay taxes twice a year because i can’t afford to pay all at once and i wondered where the monies go. The schools need funds to keep it open and the roads are full of potholes, people’s car are torn up from hitting them holes that put out money out of their pocket to fix. What about Mental Health Dept. that starting to go downhill? We pay for that too. County treasurer; what are you doing with our tax monies? Are you taking luxury vacations, buying a mansion and cars? we need some answers.

The cause is greedy politicians agreeing to pay the public employee unions lavish pensions. Should we be left holding the bag? Or should ridiculous benefit levels simply be regarded as illegitimate results of special interest capture of the government? Vote NO until they fix it!
