County employee pay

Considering all the talk about a pay study for Butler County employees, it’s worth pointing out we have posted our annual list of the top paid public sector employees from across the county. It includes cities, school staff, etc.

Here is the list.

What do you think? Any surprises?

Name, number, no description of the type of work, hours, requirements to get the job, for the Nth year in a row. This is a cheap excuse for “journalism”, designed to sell papers/draw posters to your website(s), disingenuously draped in the public’s “right to know”. Don’t give ‘em any true insight, or reporting…just cannon fodder, please.

The preceding comments were a “rant” against the publishing/editorial approach taken, not intended to be directed at Josh, or any individual reporters who contribute to the list.

I was just comparing MCSD teacher salary (where my kids USE to go) to Talawanda (where they have been for 3 years). What is the problem with Midd teachers? They get paid more than ours and they totally suck! My children were behind education wise when they began Talawanda. Our teachers need a raise and Midd need a decrease until they can DO THEIR JOB. And don’t blame society. Our school is one of the best so why can’t Midd do any better?

This list is just shown to cause trouble. A lot of the County Water employees have degrees as well as testing to keep up with their licenses etc, but you don’t show any of that….

Ex-Middletown resident…I don’t believe a word of what you say. Comparing teachers of one district against another is so un-scientific. Your kids are probably losers because you as a parent are probably a loser aslo. Sorry just calling it as I see it! Have a nice day!

What would be really interesting is what are those administrators and department heads that have left in the last few year are making now. I would bet that nearly all of them are making as much or more today and without nonsense like having their salaries published and criticized by Don Dixon.

What does a “County Safety Director” do that’s worth $74,065.00 a year? This sounds like another make work job for a displaced Kentucky Hillbilly.
