The FOP letter

As we reported last week, the Fraternal Order of Police were none too happy with layoffs at the Butler County Sheriff’s Office because of budget shortfalls.

We followed up with their complaint today, looking into claims they had about the top brass at the sheriff’s office getting end-of-year payouts in 2009. To do this, we requested copies of the last payroll of the year for the sheriff’s office.

So here is the letter from the FOP:

I wonder what the Tea Party members think now about their darling Rickie.

I guess we all know what Bill Stump was doing to earn all that Comp-Time. If he’d been doing his work instead of chasing skirts he could have gotten is work done in his 40 hour work week. Clearly, the sheriff’s office has become a total joke and the sheriff has no clue what’s going on within his own office. Sixty plus percent of the county budget is going into this Animal House Operation and citizens can now see they are not getting any real return of services for their money.

Next the Journal News needs to look at the take home vehicles at the sheriff’s office. Why does administrative staff need take home vehicles? If you’re not working evenings or going on calls during the night you don’t need a take home vehicle. I sure most, if not all these administrative people are never called back out to work after they once get home.

Millie, as long as Richie keeps tossing the Mexicans, we LOVE him. Plus, Sheriff Jones did not want the layoffs at all. Have you been paying attention?

I think it’s time the FOP and the county police chiefs organization to take a “No Confidence Vote” in the sheriff and call upon him to resign. Show some backbone guys.

Tea Bagger, I thought you people were for less government, lower taxes and less government waste. I did not know you were all about immigration. Then again I don’t think you tea baggers know what you stand for and supporting this sheriff pretty much proves that.

I thought by state law the Coroner had to be the highest paid county employee. Clearly Major Lewis made some $30,000 more last year than the Coroner.

Reported today in the Journal News is anther Deputy leaving the sheriff’s office in face of being fired because of sexual harassment, anyone see a pattern in the sheriff’s office developing here. Of course the online article about this doesn’t allow anyone to post a critical comment of the sheriff; one would guess the sheriff has called the editor to complain about the recent critical postings about him. Once again Major Dwyer not the Sheriff Jones is the one doing the talking, and again he uses “doesn’t rise to the criminal level” comment. If the sheriff is going to remove all deputies who are “flirtatious” there soon will be no deputies left.

Just think what noise would be coming from the mouth of Don Dixon if this was anyone but the sheriff.

I wonder how much of this money has found its way to the sheriff’s reelection fund?

I just find it amazing that this issue has never been brought up and discussed in a county commissioners meeting. The silence of the commissioners on this waste of money is telling of how they run county government. None of the commissioners should ever talk of waste in county government again.

The $100,000 Jones caused to be paid for the illegal arrest of the Mexican fellow would have paid the salary of three deputies this year. Way to go King Richard.
