Butler County roundup - New playgrounds, property tax woes and purchasing proposal
It’s been a busy week in Butler County. Stories from our paper I’ve missed in the blog this week:
- After months of agreeing on the potential cost-savings, Butler County commissioners took the first step Monday, Feb. 1, in consolidating purchasing processes among local governments.
- Park improvements and sidewalk paving were among $1.1 million in local projects Butler County commissioners approved Monday, Feb. 1.
- Butler County leaders avoided a legal dog fight about what company can provide services at the county airport by signing a settlement agreement Thursday, Jan. 28.
- Butler County Auditor Roger Reynolds stands by his appraisal that sent taxable property values skyrocketing in Oxford.
Any thoughts on any of these issues?

There are children that are hungry and their parents have no way to pay to keep them warm. They go to all these “help” places in town and get turned away and you want to spend millions on sidewalk repair. Haiti? Feed the children and keep them warm here in Hamilton!

People in Oxford don’t mind paying taxes, proof of that is how they always vote in favor of Talawanda School Levies.

I do believe the people have been taxed enough and way over the board. We need to feed and keep our people warm and safe first and foremost in the United States. Educate our children for a better tommorow.Yes “Haiti” is bad but we need to reach out more for the people here in Hamilton and all over our United States who also are having it so rough.Taxes should not be high or going up as well. You are robbing the poor and making more poor with all the taxing. This has all got to stop for America is going down the drain and it needs to stand proud and stay healthy to protect all.
