Alvarez releases campaign commercial

In a rare move, former West Chester Twp. trustee Jose Alvarez has produced a campaign commercial as he seeks the Butler County GOP’s endorsement for county commissioner.

That’s right, the commercial isn’t for the primary or general election, but for the party’s endorsement next month. Historically, candidates who don’t get the endorsement don’t run in the primary (though there have been exceptions), so some consider this the real race.

Alvarez is one of the dark horse candidates in the race. His name recognition pales in comparison to that of the incumbent, Gregory Jolivette, county Treasurer Nancy Nix or Clerk of Courts Cindy Carpenter. But he is definitely better known that the last candidate, Wes Retherford.

Anyway, here’s the video:

Why not Jose, I can’t see electing either of the other three who are part of the current problems in county government. New ideas and a fresh face is needed.

How did the screening committee rank those they interviewed?

Nix and Carpenter have nothing to offer as an alternative to Jolivette. Neither can beat him in a primary. Only Alvarez can win the primary.

Is Do What’s Right really Gary Cates? I hardly think so as Senator Cates would use his real name in any post. I think it’s sad to mislead and distort things. You are probably a member of the party, and a Jose supporter (and that’s ok, support whomever you want). Obviously, you have never studied any elections to a level of understanding as Jose has never run countywide so how can you make that ascertion? Makes no sense, of course your comments don’t either.

As a trustee of West Chester, Mr. Alverez voted for the re-hiring of double-dippers. We have already suffered from the after effects of those deals. They always wind up costing more. I say anyone the party insiders don’t endorse is probably the best choice.

Joe, your sarcasm melts like hot butter. Thank you for pointing out my intellectual lack. I usually don’t need help in looking stupid, I can do that all by myself. At least, you know who I am. The question is, who are you? Another coward hiding behind an assumed name although, I could bet good money you are sucking on the county t*t so get over yourself, hypocrit. You obviously don’t know Stacy and me very well because if you did, you would know that are primary concern right now is to get healthy, so get off your high horse and get a grip.

I appreciate how all of you leave me out. I do stand by a set of principles and beliefs that many people in this county still hold. That many in this party have left. There is another option. You can vote for any of these individuals, all have their positive and negative qualities, or you can vote for me. I’m not considered a party insider, I’m truly a new and fresh face that has no loyalties except to the people of this county.
