Boehner asks for money, outlines agenda

With a key campaign finance deadline approaching tonight, voters are being beseiged with requests for campaign contributions today (I get most of them because I’m on the e-mail list for both major parties).

I thought this one from U.S. House Minority Leader John Boehner, R-West Chester Twp., was interesting, because it outlines what House Republicans see as their priorities:

Dear josh,

You’ve heard from Congressman Joe Wilson. NRCC Chairman Pete Sessions reached out to you as well.

Now I’d like to ask one more time for a generous contribution of $10, $25, or $50 to help us keep fighting the jobs-killing Obama-Pelosi agenda - don’t forget every dollar donated between now and midnight tonight will be doubled by my Republican colleagues.

In recent weeks we’ve launched several new efforts to stop wasteful government spending, and make Congress more transparent and accountable. For example:

  • We’re going after taxpayer funding for ACORN and calling for a federal investigation of the left wing activist group. Our bill, the Defund ACORN Act, would make sure that taxpayers don’t send another penny to this scandal-plagued outfit.

  • We’re promoting real health care solutions that will lower costs without adding to the deficit or creating a government-run “option.” Our plan would rein in junk lawsuits that drive up costs and allow individuals and small businesses to pool together and buy insurance across state lines.

  • We’re demanding that Speaker Pelosi post all major bills online at least three days before a vote, giving lawmakers and the public time to know what’s in them.

  • And we’re backing a proposal to end the bailouts once and for all, and stop Washington from picking winners and losers in the market.

I was recently asked how some of these new Republican efforts square with GOP management of Congress during our 12 years of control. My answer was simple: “It’s time to change a lot of things about how Congress works… whether we are the majority or the minority.”

And we’re not waiting until we have the Speaker’s gavel. We’re making sure voters know now what we’d do differently if given the chance.

We only have a couple of hours left before our FEC filing deadline. Help us finish the quarter strong, and show the left and their allies that Americans have had enough of the spending, taxing, and borrowing. I hope I can count on your help!

Boehner is the single biggest douche bag I’ve ever come across. He needs money, of course, because now that he’s been exposed, he has to pay for his own golf outings.

Boehner shouldn’t be elected dog catcher, he is only for the elite wealthy. He has no plans of his own except to cover his own backside. I jsut cannot say enough bad things about this piece of …

Mr. Boehner, if you need more money, why not ask your cronies at American Financial, Blue Cross/Blue Shield or Altria (Phillip Morris) who are so generously paying you to stall the Health Care reform process. You are so deep in the pockets of Big Insurance and Big Tobacco, how can you make an unbiased decision?

Mr Boehner, admit to the fact that you are a presidential wannabe. You have numerous hidden agendas in place to pacify all voters but once you are re-elected you will be business as usual. You talk the talk, but are unable to walk the walk.

I wouldn’t p**s on that man if he was on fire. He has a lot of nerve criticizing anyone about being scandal plagued. Him and his fear mongering cronies from the GOP and the big pharma and medical insurance companies are scandalous enough. It is time for Americans to wake up to the REal culprits that caused our financial ruin.

I can think of only one thing that would be worse than Obama being president of this country. That would be Johnnie Boehner being speaker of the House.

After reading this story I intended to comment. After reading what everyone else has said, I don’t think I could offer anything more. John, you might want to polish up your resume’ because I hope you are “out of the office” for good next election.

If Obama’s goals are met U.S. gov’t spending will be 49% of our GDP. $48 trillion in unfunded liabilities will be further kicked down the road. Deficits will balloon. The dollar will get weaker, jobs will shrink and new taxes will pass through to all – most notably from Cap and Trade and Obamacare, the latter rewards employers for dropping coverage and will cost untold trillions in perpetuity. Sorry, those most hurt will be those who can least afford it. Yet, some would still toss Boehner out for what, wanting Obama to fix our existing debts and spend less? Perhaps if he were more like John (the Pork King) Murtha all would be happier. Thankfully Boehner’s not and national polls prove he’s on the right track.

I see Boehner’s fear mongering and spewing of crap statistics and flat out falsehoods has scared another Rush Limbaugh fan into believing that the Republican party that took this nation to the brink of financial ruin has the answers. Wrong.

I’ve yet to read where only Republicans took out mortgages and racked up credit card debt that they could ill afford, that Republican only Wall Street execs and CEO’s are solely to blame for this fiscal mess and that only Republicans are against Obamacare. Yet that’s what many here would have people believe. And, sorry to burst some bubbles but Rush’s bloviating doesn’t negate today’s simple economic facts: Obama’s agenda has exacerbated and protracted this mess, and if allowed, his “change” will push this country over the economic brink. Thankfully, a growing plurality of Americans understand the simple economics of it all, supported by facts from the OMB and other non-partisan entities.

It’s a shame Sheriff Jones let us down and chickened out on running for this congressional seat.
