I thought Tim Williams was supposed to be some financial expert and now we have a new finance person yet a Domestic Relations Judge has a better handle on the county finances than them. Maybe we now know who will be leaving the administration next.

Wait one minute, these guys are talking out of both sides of their mouth. First the refuse to approve the Collective Bargaining Agreement for MRDD even when no General Funds dollars are involved. Then minutes later they approve a promotion and reclassification with pay increases for two social services employees. No Mr. Dixon, it’s clear everyone isn’t on the same team.

What I came away with from today’s meeting is that Commissioner Dixon is for a massive layoff of county employees. He claims he doesn’t want to do that but he seems unwilling to look at any other options.

Go back and look at what the commissioners approved in travel and training for the past five meetings and then tell me why they had problems with the small amounts they failed to approve on today. Also note how much travel has been approved without any question for the favored Board of Elections and Sheriff’s Office.
