The Carpenter research

When Butler County commissioners began asking county offices to cut their budget to keep up with recession, Clerk of Courts Cindy Carpenter said her office analyzed her budget, comparing it to other offices to see if there were, indeed, inefficiencies.

Below is her research, which gives an interesting analysis into the county’s finances and where they spend money for payroll. It led her to make this argument in today’s paper.

Thank God someone is finally standing up to the three boozo’s on the county commission. They spout off all this stuff but never have facts to back them up. I’m sick of Don Dixon pointing the finger at everyone, but never addressing the commissioners office, sheriff’s department and board of elections and the many issues there.

It’s no secret that salaries have been out of line for sometime. And, it’s no surprise that certain areas skew higher because of the specialized skills they need and/or that they think they need. But, what’s really missing from this picture is a historical review of FTE’s (Full-time Equivalent Employees). Going back five years or more will better expose those groups that abused our trust and those who likely did not.

There is no way that the average salary is 42,668.00 for the people physically working in the commissioners office on the 6th floor of the government building, which is what I’d consider the commissioners office. I doubt if there is anyone of those ten people making less than what is reported the average of $46,668.00 in that office.

This is outrageous! How dare Cindy Carpenter do such a thing and come out publicly against the Commissioners and even her own party. Hope she has a back-up career plan, or at least good representation when she gets that DUI. Better watch your back, Cindy.

The outrageous thing is that Carpenter is the only Republican Office holder with enough backbone to stand up to democrats Dixon and Jolivette and tell them to stop spending and wasting taxpayers money. I would encourage Ms. Carpenter to run for commissioner next yearand rid us of tax and spend Jolivette, she’s got my vote and support.
