Tornado spotting workshop canceled due to high winds

The headline says it all.

It was scheduled for tonight at 7 p.m. at Garfield Middle School but likely won’t be rescheduled until after a new emergency management director is named later this year. Read posts below for more on that.

Go here for more on the wind advisory. Bad weather is on the way.

That has to be the one of the funiest headlines I’ve seen in a long time. Whats next “Hockey game cancelled due to ice”!

Howie, several things I know factored into the canceling of the training. 1. The NWS want all staff on hand at there office for the weather threat, 2. many of those that attend the training are fire fighters and police officers and they were very busy last night, and 3. no need to ask the public to be on the roads which were covered with debri. The decision of EMA and NWS to cancel was a wise one.
