Boehner blasts economic stimulus plan
Butler County’s own U.S. Rep. John Boehner, House minority leader and West Chester Twp. native, went on Meet the Press Sunday with harsh criticism of the $800 billion-plus economic stimulus package scheduled for a House vote next week.

Boehner is right on. At this writing, the Democrat’s plan is too slow and typical of Washington. It doesn’t come close to targeting help for small businesses – where job growth can really be quickly sped-up, it targets large amounts of money for pork barrel projects and on areas that have little to do with kick-starting this economy where it really needs it. And, contrary to Morgan’s comments below, Boehner has a record of being against pork barrel spending even in his own backyard. Too bad more elected officials don’t act the same way as it appears that this “stimulus” plan is business as usual.

Boehner & the Republicans have done nothing positive for this country during the past 8 years. And now they complain when someone tries to clean up the train wreck they’ve caused.

Funny, Democrats have been in charge for two plus years already. And, during that time they did what? Exacerbate this country’s poor economic times. Peolis, Waxman, Hyde, Waters, et al need to go too. Hell, Waters wanted to guarantee that low income people received loans in the auto ballout. Apparently, she and those like her learned nothing from their experience with housing. Time to throw them out for their ridiculous oversight and wasteful spending and pandering to buy more votes.
