I’m still here

If there’s anyone out there still reading this blog, allow me to assure you I haven’t died or skipped town. I took some time off for family reasons.

I will be blasting back into the blogosphere like before next week. Until then, here are some news nuggets about goings-on in Butler County:

  • At the same meeting Donald Dixon became the new county commission president, commissioners agreed to hold one meeting a month after working hours to give the public a chance to attend. Here is that story. It’s unclear if they plan to move the meetings around the county, but they had hinted at it earlier. And let me say that unlike what one Cincinnati newspaper reported, there is one person (usually, no more than one) at every meeting — a reporter from this newspaper.
  • Here is a cute story about a man who got a road named after his mother.
  • Local courts may raise fees to help ends meet this troubled budget year. Here is that story.

That should be a good enough fix for now. Any comments on any of these stories? Anything else I missed?

Stay tuned. This should be an interesting month with a tough budget for county leaders to get through.
