What now for John Boehner?
So now that Democrats have wrested control of the U.S. House, Senate and the White House, what happens to Butler County’s own John Boehner, U.S. House minority leader and congressman from West Chester Twp.?
Will he be the scapegoat?
Boehner announced last week his intention of holding his party leadership post. And Butler County Commissioner Gregory Jolivette is working to mount a grassroots campaign to keep Boehner right where he is. Here is a letter from Jolivette to local Republicans:
But Boehner’s days are numbered, according to NPR political analyst Ken Rudin:
Minority Leader John Boehner and Whip Roy Blunt somehow managed to survive the loss of their majority in 2006 with their leadership posts intact; it’s hard to envision a repeat performance.
But not so fast, reports CNS News:
Sources on Capitol Hill told CNSNews.com that despite “widespread discontent” among rank-and-file Republicans, it is unlikely that House Minority Leader John Boehner (R-Ohio) will even be challenged for his position in the new Congress.
What do you think?

Is this appropriate use of county stationary and I’d guess county employees to type this type of political letter. Our tax dollars wated.

I would suggest Mr. Boehner throw his cigarettes away, launder his crying towel, and stash his golf clubs in the garage. He should then actually work for the good of his district, his state and his country, by working with all the Congress, not just the Republicans, and with his President, Barack Obama, to get America out of the mess Mr. Boehner and his party caused. Might be a good idea if Mr.Jolivette did the same thing. Stop the silliness, Mr. Boehner, and get to work, not for your party, but for your country.

Are you aware that the first presenation to the House from Paulson and Bush was strictly just for the 700 Billion. The dems of the house worked on their own and threw in pork. Like money for ACORN. They wanted the republicans to just sign off. Boehner faught and worked hard to get the pork removed. Boehner was wrong to hold his nose and vote for the bailout, but he was working for us and got the pork taken out and put in protections. Unfortunately the Senate then loaded with Pork to get it passed. We need Boehner in there and it is going to be a tough battle for him as he tries to fight against wasteful spending.

“as he tries to fight against wasteful spending.”(Patty) It seems Patty had her head under a rock during the past eight years while Mr. Boehner and Mr. Bush racked up the largest public debt in the history of the world. Not once did Mr. Boehner vote against the out-of- control spending of the Bush Administration. Nor did he ever ask for accountablity for the trillions which his party gleefully squandered with no tangible benefit to the American people. Patty quit listening to Rush and Sean and try to find out what is going on in the world. You would be surprised. By the way we have a new President, who I think you will like.
