Jolivette responds to Zettler blast
Butler County Commissioner Gregory Jolivette fired back today at calls by Jack Zettler, candidate for county auditor, for a senior services levy surplus to be refunded to voters.
“I think it’s unfortunate that he would try to use senior citizens to promote his campaign,” Jolivette said.
While Jolivette agrees the county should refund as much of the surplus as possible in the form of a tax reduction — but use a small amount for capital needs at local senior centers — he took issue with Zettler’s comment that, “The surplus money collected is not the elected official’s found treasure to be squandered on their next pet project or to be used to hire more of their friends and relatives.”
“Does that mean that he is against helping senior citizens and senior citizen programs with the money citizens have earmarked to help seniors?” Jolivette said.
“It’s obvious he’s just trying to grab headlines…using seniors to try to promote his campaign,” Jolivette said.

What Zettler means, Greggie, is that ALL of the overage money should be refunded to the voters.Your suggestion of using “some” of it for capital needs at senior centers is not what the voters voted to use it for. You are making a decision to use “some” of the money and it’s not your decision to make. Then, to deflect criticism, you shamelessly say that Zettler is against the seniors for disagreeing with what YOU want. Greggie, you’re a pompous a—.As for “grabbing headlines”. Jolivette, no one is better at it than you are, bud.Years ago, you sat at my house with Joe Statser, planning, marched in the Middletown parade and professed to be a Democrat, then sold your soul to win in Butler County by changing parties. You have no integrity. Go back to your root beer stand. If people only knew the real you.- A sellout.

All the county commissioners are moronic and should be voted out of office. The language of the ballot dictated how the funds would be used. If to much was taken, every dime must be refunded. Time to begin looking at lawyers for the abuse of power and usage of money not voted for. That includes the neglect Middletownians have incurred by the city council on streets. Maybe its time for a class action suit against those that abuse the elcted power, costing taxpayers in the end. REFUND every $ Greg!

The abusive comments posted here are soooo constructive. Why, we could probably run the county with just the intelligence contained in them.
