Carter not playing in Rose Bowl

OSU confirmed Duron Carter’s status this morning. Reports earlier this week indicated that Carter was not in good standing academically:

COLUMBUS, Ohio - Ohio State freshman wide receiver Duron Carter will not be involved in the Buckeyes’ Rose Bowl game with Oregon in Pasadena Jan. 1.

The Buckeyes continue practice for the Rose Bowl in Columbus through Dec. 21.

As a former college athlete (D-I school), it always amazes me how guys can let their gpa fall below eligiblity. There are so many resources available to you so that you can avoid it!’Ol Cris has to be fuming at his son.

NickM, that was Andy Katzenmoyer schedule, I remember that LOL too funny. What makes it bad is that Carter is a true freshman in his first semester/quarter or college. He not even taking any major classes. Pure laziness, thats all it is.

Wow ! It’s a shame , Duron Carter graduated from a parochial HS St Thomas Aquinas in Ft Lauderdale ,Fl . Supposedly one of the better academic high schools . The Buckeyes and Terrelle Pryor will miss the 6’3” 200 lb Freshman WR … The Oregon Ducks have speedy but short defensive backs . Go Bucks !

That seems odd being that Ohio State players are the top academic students in Div I Football. Regardless, I predict that Ohio State will win this game 35-7 as they are the most dominate team in CFB right now.

I am so SICK of hearing Racism. It is called Grades and he didn’t get them. Know one knows the real reason why and know one knows what is classes are. I wish these young men would realize what a privelege it is to get a scholarship and play a sport for any college. I bet there are others out there wishing they had this opportunity and would also get the grades.
