Beanie Wells to miss another game
Beanie Wells’ injured foot is getting better, but the Ohio State running back will sit out Saturday’s game against Troy, coach Jim Tressel said on his radio show Thursday.
The junior All-American hasn’t played since the third quarter of the Aug. 29 season-opener against Youngstown State.
“Beanie had a real good workout Tuesday, and we were interested in seeing how he came back Wednesday,” Tressel said. “And then Wednesday, his work was even more and he felt better than he did.
“I’d like to think it won’t be long (before he’s back), but no promises. I can’t promise we’ll have him in a couple weeks.”
As for the quarterback situation, Tressel said freshman Terrelle Pryor is taking 60 percent of the snaps with the first-team offense in practice, while senior Todd Boeckman is getting the other 40.
“We expect it to be a fairly even balance (against Troy). But what happens during the course of the game can dictate a change one way or the other,” Tressel said.
Left guard Steve Rehring is expected to miss several games with a foot injury. Tressel said eight players have been rotating at the five linemen spots, and one option for the Buckeyes is to put center Jim Cordle at guard with freshmen Michael Brewster taking Cordle’s spot.

Tressel- Is Wells ready or not? Tressel says Wells feels good, has good workouts and seems ok but won’t play??? What’s the problem then? Might as well get Pryor ready. Boeckman had his shot. Time to prep for the future.Now we need to address the play calling and lack of defensive aggression.Let’s get some sacks this week, start running over some people on offense and start acting like we want to beat up on somebody for a change. Hey VietVet, u will see all those those things against TROY, pryor will look like a vince young in the making against TROY. The defense will be more aggressive also against TROY. Then when its time to play the big boys, back to the same ol kindr/gentler ball.By Buckfan

I love it when a tiny minority of Buckeye fans think they’re smarter than a coach who’s won five national championships. jt knows what he’s doing i agree with that but i also think that he chokes in big games the last big game he won was aginst michigan who is in the big ten which is getting worst each year i think if he would have let pryor play more in the first two games he would have made a bigger impact in the usc game and maybe have scored a td boeckman has had two shots and know three and has failed i think its time for a change lol and jt needs to start recruting better o-line men for gods sake they cant block the qb if their lives depended on it for three now four years now in big games that are not big ten teams osu has sucked something has to give and soon.By Randy

Good God…Please use commas and periods; know the difference between, they, their, they’re;to and too; Know & now; Our, and are…It makes some of these comments almost unreadable. . No wonder the rest of the world thinks the Big Ten is a sports only Conference!
