One of my kids liked a book quite a bit and it disappeared. The library gave me several chances to look for it, but I ended up paying to replace it. The book turned up the next day.

There is a history of this library’s management having their head up their derriere. The Charlton Public Library banned Mark Twain’s book “Eve’s Diary” in 1906. It was banned because a library trustee objected to the nude illustrations.

Yeah, gotta get these hardened criminals off the streets. First library books, next it will be GTA. Better to deal with them young…yes, that was all a joke. I wonder if the library sent any letters at all. I remember this happening when I was a kid, a book had got misplaced on my bookshelf with others. We got a letter, found it and returned without police involvement. Sometimes, simple solutions are the best.
