“Kindle Fire For Dummies”

Happy New Year. I was just checking out the best-selling books over on Amazon.com and I wasn’t very surprised to see that a book with the title of “Kindle Fire For Dummies” is in the Top Ten this hour. Amazon does not release their exact sales figures for their Kindle eReaders but since they introduced the latest version, the Amazon Kindle Fire, a few weeks ago they have supposedly been selling about a million Kindles a week. That’s a lot.

So this book should be popular, right? Then I thought about it. The book was at #9 in sales on the book chart. I mean this is a book, a real physical paperback book, not a Kindle download. I laughed. Funny, yes?

So I checked to see how the Kindle version, the actual download of the eBook is selling. Then I really chuckled because it is only at number #619 in the Kindle Store. The real physical book version is selling like hotcakes while the download is lagging by comparison. I find this to be ironic and rather amusing.

Now I think I’ll go read a book. One made out of paper that is…
