A letter from JD Salinger
JD Salinger lived a reclusive life for decades. His novel “A Catcher in the Rye” generated substantial royalty checks over that time and he was under little pressure to publish more work. When he died there were rumors of unpublished manuscripts.
During his life Salinger went after anybody who tried to cash in on his fame and good name. Now that he is gone his estate lawyers are being vigilant about protecting his legacy. A memorabilia seller who posted a 1957 Salinger letter on-line is the latest to incur the wrath of the Salinger estate.
