a feel good story…
This afternoon I had just returned from eating lunch in town with my wife. We returned to the house. Then she took the dog to the park.
Shortly after she left I realized that my wallet was missing. And my camera was gone. Then I remembered that I had my wallet and camera when we came home. After that, I could not recall what I had done with them. Nervously, I began retracing my steps.
The phone rang. A woman was calling to say that she had just found my wallet in the middle of my road. A few minutes later a family drove up in their van and returned my wallet. All the cash, checks, credit cards and miscellaneous wallet items were there inside. I was delighted to know that such wonderful, honest, conscientious people had found my wallet and returned it right away.
Here’s what had happened: when we got home I had some bags of groceries to take inside. I apparently placed my wallet and camera on top of the car and did not notice my missing property until after my wife had gone to the park with the dog.
As for the camera; I walked down our road and scanned the ditch. About 500 yards down the roadside I found my precious camera alongside the road in the grass. It had taken quite a blow when it bounced off the road and into the ditch. Fortunately, it was inside a sturdy case and it appears to be perfectly fine.
That’s my feel good story. Good Samaritans continue to live among us in 2011. Enjoy the holiday!

My I am sure glad I live in a great place story was the wallet I left in the very comfortable couch in Costco. I got a call from the membership desk within a half hour to come pick up my wallet (with everything still in it). This wonderful action was especially thoughtful as I was visiting and needed my ID to fly home in our new improved police state!

This is a much-needed upper for us in the USA, in the middle of Depression and War. Bless all the good folks who returned your stuff, plus the maker of the camera case. Plus you, of course, Vick.
