George W. Bush, Mark Twain, and that Wimpy Kid…
Mark Twain is hot. I just checked the best-selling books on Amazon.com. For the past week “Decision Points”. the new memoir by former President George W. Bush has had a lock on the #1 spot. The new “Diary of a Wimpy Kid” has been holding down the #2 slot. Until now.
“The Autobiography of Mark Twain-Vol. 1” just surged past “Wimpy Kid” this hour to move into second place.
This unexpurgated version of the Twain book was published at his request to mark the 100th anniversary of his death. The publisher, the University of California Press, underestimated the demand for this title. The Twain book is selling like crazy and many booksellers failed to predict the high demand for it. Even Amazon.com is sold out of it.
There are a couple of third party sellers on the Amazon site trying to sell first editions of this new Twain book for big dollars. One seller wants 400 dollars for it. Take that, you “Wimpy Kid.”

Bush is hot! Always has been. Especially when his sleeves are rolled up and he’s walking his dog. He’s always been smarter than what he’s willing to let on and he can dance, too!

I too miss the great Bush years. Endless war, bankrupt economic policies that will destroy my children’s birthrights, torture at the hands of private companies, creation of vast new bureaucracies to fondle my junk and a worthless currency. I guess I’d need to scout the second hand bin to afford the Bush blather. Really. Obama may be many things to many people but the cause of our current woes? I doubt it. Mark Twain - now there’s the measure of a man - he waited a 100 years to spread his manure.

I look forward to reading the Bush book. I am conservative, yet, did not always agree with the President on the issues. Especially amnesty. I thought the border should have been sealed. Here, in the Obama times we still have illegals and drugs coming over the border. I support profiling of Muslims for our own safety. The northern border has been just as dangerous. The Russians have been sneaking in up there. Back to Bush. Look forward to the book and believe his days were better than the invasive days with Obama!

I’ll pick up the “Wimpy Kid” book soon for my little guy. W will have to wait a while before I peruse Half Price Books to hunt for a copy. I’m guessing Mr Twain still makes a great read.
