My interview with Newt Gingrich
Newt Gingrich has been the co-author of a number of historical novels over the dozen years since he left his post as Speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives. His most recent book is a recreation of the winter that nearly derailed the American Revolution, “Valley Forge.”
According to Gingrich the determination of General George Washington was one of the key factors that allowed our fledgling nation to get through that arduous Pennsylvania winter.
I spoke to Newt Gingrich recently about his book. He will be at Books&Co. at the Greene in Beavercreek for a book signing this coming Monday at 1pm.
In our conversation we talked about George Washington, who went on to become our nation’s first president. Newt Gingrich is one of the names being mentioned as a possible presidential candidate in 2012.
An article today in the New York Times had this to say about his potential as a nominee:
“Newt Gingrich, the former House speaker, is one of the biggest variables. Mr. Gingrich has not been openly buttonholing major donors for a presidential bid, fund-raisers said. Nevertheless, all the work he has been doing for his policy center, American Solutions, generating large contributions (the group is permitted to take in donations of unlimited size) and building donor lists, could form a strong financial foundation for a run.”
During our conversation I asked Newt Gingrich if he was considering a run for the White House? To read what Newt Gingrich had to say click HERE:

@ukgirl, You are chastising the wrong party. The republicans continued to vote “Republican”. The swing votes must have come from the democrats. The far left has fallen into the minority or they didn’t find it necessary to vote.

Nice interview, I got the impression you actually read his book. And, you probably got about the most honest answer I’ve heard from a potential candidate about if they are running or not, Maybe. The thing about Gingrich is his absolute certainty about everything, whether he knows what he is talking about or not. He’s said some of the most shockingly ignorant things over the years, but at least he’s sure about them. Personally, I’d love to see a Gingrich-Palin debate.

You people just crack me up! Newt is a twit and worse! You think Obama is bad and has surrounded himself with “bad”people….what about a Pres and Vice Pres who thinks waterboarding is OK! What about rebublicans who think we need to give the wealthiest 2% perm.tax cuts! If that is what is needed to get the economy going then why isn’t it going now since the tax breaks are in place! What about Bush playing super extra nice to Saudi Arabia. There are people out there that can’t get or afford healthcare and you all think they are lazy and deserve to die because they can’t afford it or because they have cancer and the insurance companies have dropped them!!! You all are FOOLS. I dont use that word very often but when I read stuff like this then the word needs to be used. The Pubs have gotten people to believe that they believe in good moral values and they are trying to save this country based on that then they put out there a guy like “Newt”…yes vote for him in 2012 and I know Obama will get re-elected or Sarah Palin….what a idiot! Wise up people you are being tricked into thinking republicans will save the country and all they are doing is going to drag us down lower than Bush did when he ruined our country and dragged us into 2 wars that we cant get out of and now people want us to go to war with Iran and get more of our kids killed.

I don’t know about Newt. I do know the conservatives need a strong candidate that to run for President. Not all has met the eye about Obama. I still believe his loyalties are not all with America. His healthcare bill is way beyond just a simple social bill. Obama and his party seem to want to control the whole healthcare industry as well as hold on to a majority of stock in General Motors. These things need to be reversed, repealed, whatever. Obama’s associates like the wealthy George Soros, evil, yet, seemingly an elderly gentleman, wants to control our free speech, intervene in our freedom of worship and control our gun rights. We have problems with Obama and his buddies like Soros, Van Jones, Cass Sunstein and perhaps, his old associates in Acorn.

I am not saying Newt would be the best candidate. I do believe we have serious problems with the current administration and their policies. First, I question the integrity of Pres. Obama because of the people he has and currently surrounded himself by. Van Jones, Cass Sunstein, George Soros are all extremists. Soros has destroyed political systems in other countries. We must be alert to this evil, seemingly nice, elder man. Newt is a saint compared to these people. To create somewhat of a social program would be one thing. To create a healthcare bill like we have is terrible. It must be repealed. To control doctors, hospitals, pharmacies and agencies not even relevant to healthcare is way out of line. I support Boehner and Portman’s plans to repeal the bill. Newt can’t be crossed off the list. Maybe, maybe not.

Newt is interesting. As a former history professor he comes at things from a historical perspective and it seems his mind is always churning out ideas. I fear Philman is right as he carries with him some baggage.

I am causiously optimistic about the next two years. After what has happened to our country durring the past two decades, I think all politicians should be “on probation”. It is obvious that nothing positive is going to happen without compromise. Extremists, including the media (left & right),must be ignored or we will continue to falter. Our enemies have to be enjoying the gridlock and infighting of our recent political representatives. Responsible spending and jobs should be on the top of the list. I think we have done enough for the people in Iraq and Afganistan. The real enemy has spread out all over the globe. Perhaps we should claim victory and bring our troops home? We can’t afford to continue to police the world. We really don’t need, and can’t afford, another Vietnam.

The Liberal media may try to pick him for us, like they did MCcain, Newt has WAY to much baggage, I think he might have a chance if he can keep the media from reporting he divorced a wife battaling cancer for an Aide he married, and is now on wife # 3 I believe, NOT MUCH CHANCE WITH THE MORAL MAJORITY.
