The Dept. of Defense waited too long to yank the unredacted version. The publisher had already sent out at least 100 advance copies of the uncensored book to book reviewers, etc. A copy of the “naughty” version sold on eBay recently for thousands of dollars….

I guess its part of being a free society. Just part of “homeland security” Does anyone remember when Sen. Scoop Jackson’s library in Washington State was raided and items were confiscated. Happened after 9-11.

The “redacted” version of the book came out this week. It has shot up to #2 in sales on Amazon already…

Don’t they know how to recycle? geesh! That seems evil to waste the materials. You can make beads outta paper you know. People even sell them to earn a living in some parts of the world.

A copy of the unredacted book was compared to the redacted version, and it was found that nearly every redaction was of facts already in the public realm that had already been published by newspapers. This is just more butt-covering from a Pentagon that cannot bear to be scrutinized after having mucked up two wars beyond recognition.

Your post is a little disingenuous. The author would have signed an agreement while serving in the military not to disclose classified information and was cooperating in the Army’s attempt to clear the book. The article also says that they were working on a corrected version. Your use of the “book burning” meme will play well with your fan base, but there is no evil here, and you know it. Oh well, guess it got you a hit from someone who would not normally read you. Good job.
