Was George W. Bush the worst modern president?

Siena College has tabulated the results of their ongoing survey of presidential scholars to determine how they would rank our presidents from best to worst. Barack Obama is included this time, while George W. Bush is dropping like a rock in the rankings. This year W is being considered the worst modern president according to these 238 scholars who have written extensively on the presidency.

The report begins: ” For the fifth time since its inception in 1982, the Siena College Research Institute’s (SRI) Survey of U.S. Presidents finds that experts rank Franklin D. Roosevelt as the top all time chief executive. The 238 participating presidential scholars round out the top five in order with Theodore Roosevelt, Abraham Lincoln, George Washington and Thomas Jefferson. Teddy Roosevelt had, more than any other president the “right stuff”, and tops the collective ranking of a cluster of personal qualities including imagination, integrity, intelligence, luck, background, and being willing to take risks. Lincoln, according to the experts, demonstrated the greatest presidential abilities while FDR ranks first in overall accomplishments.”

This poll rated these men as the worst presidents in US history: Andrew Johnson, James Buchanan, Warren Harding, Franklin Pierce and George W. Bush.

Sounds like the Nobel organization better make 238 co-prizes for the next award in this category. That way these “scholars” can join the ranks of “thug / swindler” Arafat, “masher / father of the internet / etc.” Gore and “shredder of the US Constitution / I’m running bankruptcy court out of the White House except when I’m on vacation” Obama.

President Bush, you airheads who voted for the Muslim/Marxist will soon be praying for W—-add it up folks—4.7%unemployment—14,000 stock market—a strong dollar—54 months of superb GNP growth, and no terrorist attacks for seven and a half years, not a bad record indeed.

Here is one reason why he is the worse that will ever be. “Yeah, we waterboarded Khalid Sheikh Mohammed,” the former president said during an appearance at the Economic Club of Grand Rapids, Michigan, according to the Grand Rapids Press, If that sounds familiar, it should. Back in February, Dick Cheney bragged to ABC’s Jonathan Karl is almost the exact same. The end

We could debate the issues H. Lee, but you would never be able to keep up. we were “dumbing” it down for you. NO-ONE who is paying attention to the issues could POSSIBLY dispute that President Robin Hood (Obama) is the worst President ever.

lmj said “Just wonderin’, from both sides, rather than denigrating the “other side” what would you have the President do?” Oh, please, lmj! That would require the posters here to give some thought and consideration to the issues. Why think when you can spew?

Barack Obama is the best president ever. I mean it’s not even close. Look at what he’s overcome in his life: born in Kenya; educated by Islamic terrorists in Indonesia; deprogrammed at Harvard law. And, he still managed to become president of America. Brings a tear to your eye, don’t it?

Let’s talk about a couple of statistics: Bush ran the deficit up 3.9 Trillion in 8 years; Obama is at 3.6 Trillion and counting after 18 months. Bush’s highest unemployment rate was 6.0 in 2003; Obama’s 9.3 in 2009. http://www.bls.gov/cps/cpsaat1.pdf The list goes on. These Liberal buffoon Bush bashers never want to talk about any facts.

Woodrow Wilson was probably the worst President, followed closely by Barack Hussein Obama, then James Earl Carter. Can you think of a more Liberal place to conduct a poll. Here is another headline from Siena College: “Overwhelming number of welfare recipients polled are in favor of, er, uh, er…welfare.” President Robin Hood stuttered while his prompter was refreshing!

Americans just LOVE their rankings and standings. When that doesn’t satisfy a consensus, they want more play-off’s and debates. It’s just SO American to have such lists which have all the meaning of a Letterman ‘top ten list’ or ‘stupid pet tricks.’ But,it comes down to the obvious question, “What value is this?” At one time, governing ‘excellence’ was perceived to be the results of careful, aristocratic inbreeding. GWB the ‘worst’ modern president? Nope. ‘Maybe the worst postmodern one, though. Historians haven’t had enough time to really look at him from some distance of time and declassification of certain documents.

Just wonderin’, from both sides, rather than denigrating the “other side” what would you have the President do? I don’t mean “get more jobs” or some such easy phrase. What steps do you think should be taken that have not been? “If I was President, I would…” Now, give me something to ponder.

There were many bad presidents in the history of our country. Some inept, some crooks, some adulterers and some alcoholics. Bush may not have been the worst president in our history but, he probably was the worst president in modern times.

And we want to take the country back? Republicans hate Barack Obama. Never in my life have I seen politics take on such hatred. Especially when they did not ever complain while the country was going out of control under George Bush. He tried, but his keep the rich , rich did not work. But, that is exactly what they want again. Go figure.
