“The Girl Who Kicked the Hornet’s Nest”
Stieg Larsson is about the hottest author around these days. And he doesn’t even know it. Larsson’s crime trilogy is selling like the proverbial hotcakes. The final book in the trilogy, “The Girl Who Kicked the Hornet’s Nest,” is currently #2 on the Amazon.com hourly sales chart. The book comes out on May 27th. It has been in the top ten on Amazon for months.
The first book, “The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo,” is currently at #5 on Amazon. The second book, “The Girl Who Played with Fire.” is at #6. Larsson has half the books in the top 6. That’s a lot of books being sold. All three books are published by Knopf.
The author passed away several years ago, before his trilogy was published in English. Larsson was a Swedish journalist and he wrote crime novels on the side.
Quite the sideline…

Ordered this book from Amazon.co.uk a while back after reading the first two and loving them. Friends who were pressed into reading TGWTDT found it unbearable - slower than slow, more boring than (whatever’s boring to you). Seriously - they HATED it and are angry with me for recommending it. Hmmmm. I don’t understand. Maybe I need more in-synch friends. But I agree, Debra, about Noomi - was skeptical until I saw her, and now I’m in love. She’s perfect.

I’m not sure about that, LMJ. I can’t wait to get my hands on a copy of this latest book to figure that out…

So Vick, I read that Steig had outlined 5 books but only got 3 written. Does Hornet’s Nest leave a void?

I am eagerly awaiting the release of the audiobook (simulataneous release.) Having listened to Simon Vance masterfully narrate the first two, I can only imagine the third in his voice. As I cannot imagine an actress other than Noomi Lapace as Salander. Tick… tick… tick… Time moves so slowly.
