Dayton’s best selling author…
Has to be Martha Moody from Washington Township. Martha’s first novel, Best Friends,” has sold about a quarter of a million copies so far.
Her third novel, “Sometimes Mine” (Riverhead) ~ just came out in a paperback. I think it is her best book yet.
It is the story of an affair and the long term consequences. A female cardiologist in Ohio has been having a long running affair with a college basketball coach in West Virginia. He’s married. She isn’t.
Every week they meet at a hotel halfway between and continue their dalliance. Until he falls ill and they have to break it off. Even this cannot break their connection. Life is funny that way…
Moody’s latest book is written with her trademark insightful tenderness.
