I’ll be on WYSO Sunday morning at 10:30…
These flowers are blooming though the snow in my yard. They are so lovely, so hardy, pushing their gentle blossoms up through the ice.
Tune in to WYSO (91.3fm) this Sunday morning. I’ll be broadcasting live from the WYSO studios. They will be airing my interview with one of the sharpest cultural critics in America. Tune in at 10:30 to find out who she is. I’ll be on until noon. I hope you can listen.

American are grossly overworked and wrongly optimistic? I am not sure if I can answer the bell Monday morning after reflecting on the Book Nook conversation on WYSO.

I believe that’s the one. He was always able to get in to see the acts on “Austin City Limits” which made me jealous. When he worked in SC, his station was in the tower of the Yorktown, moored at Patriots Point. He gave me the tour of all the off limits parts of the bridge and museum. That was like heaven for a Naval Aviation aficionado .

Well Irish, advertising is certainly more obnoxious to listen to…does your buddy work for KUT?

Vick, I’m familiar with the concept. I have a high school buddy who works for the Public radio station in Austin. I enjoy telling him how it’s more respectable to sell advertising than to beg ;-)

Irish, you are not paying 120 dollars for a box of chocolates. You are donating 120 dollars. The chocolate makers are donating a box of chocolates. That is called a “thank you gift.” A guy named Gump put it better than I could when he said “life is like a box of chocolates….”

All NPR stations sound like they’re begging. That must be great chocolate at $120.00 a box!

Irish, thanks for listening. Did that sound like begging to you? I was actually just having fun. And in regard to chocolate, I understand that some people really love it so I was trying to capture that sensation for them. I rarely eat the stuff and I’m not actually that fond of it but I understand this chocolate I was describing is the real deal for chocolate cravers…

Vick, I wasn’t at Church this morning, so I was able to listen. I thought you did a good job, even if you were begging for $$$. Sounds like you reeaally like chocolate.

You “tell them we’ll be there…you hear me?” Although management at WYSO likes to say, “we do things differently here now”, they got this one absolutely correct. This ought to be a daily occurrence.
