Book teasers are the worst…
Book teasers can drive a reviewer wild. I got this postcard in the mail. It says “It’s Super”.
Now, if it was really super it should have an exclamation point, right? “It’s Super!”. But it doesn’t.
Who sent it? There is no identifying characteristic except for the message: COMING IN JULY 2010. OK. And there is a postmark: 10019. New York. That would be New York City. Home of book publishing. Former home of book publishing hype.
Still trying. I guess. (yawn). They did pay letter rate though! 44 cents! I’m impressed!

Hi Nick. Thanks for the comments. It is a round postacard and that must be a clue but it is a bit large to be a coaster. That is the idea though. Whoever sent it wants people to be curious and to talk about it. Build some buzz. I expect more cards to arrive any day now. In regard to your comments on the book “Ravens” by George Dawes Green that you left on some of my older blog posts (Thanks, for looking at those!)…Green picked Piqua at random. I doubt that he has ever even been there. When I interviewed him he indicated that he had not gone there to do any “research.” On the other hand, he grew up in that town in Georgia and he still spends a lot of time there. His family lives there. When I interviewed him he was in that town so I think he is very familiar with that locale. His Piqua knowledge is probably more Googled than actual. Thanks, again.

wait, is that book mark round? if nothing else, it looks like a coaster. If the book is about drinks, then maybe it is. Seriously, a round postcard?
