Stephenie Meyer is red hot…
Stephenie Meyer has sold over 85 million books. Is there any other American author putting up these kind of numbers? I don’t think so. Those are JK Rowling type numbers.
This weekend “The Twilight Saga: New Moon,” the latest film based on Meyer’s “Twilight” series of books is breaking all kinds of box office records. Stephenie Meyer is hot. Smoking hot.
Here’s the kicker; Meyer only began writing books five years ago.

And I would guess that about 99.9% of that 85 million were purchased by people under the age of fifteen. Anybody that wants to find out how to become a bazillionaire needs to just check with the marketing team of Miley and the Jonas Bros, which Stephenie Meyers has clearly done. I thought about doing it myself - creating a mindless character, a back story and the branding to go along with it - because I could always use the money… but I decided I would be a much better person if I didn’t contribute to the corruption of our materially fixated, overly indulged children. On the other hand, why not take advantage of their guilt-ridden, financially irresponsible and probably absent parents?

I saw the first movie and don’t have any interest in seeing this one. “Vampires” and little boys portraying them just don’t excite me.
