The library is a special place…

so special

I love a good library. I was pleased to see that I’m not alone in my love. Miami Valley residents voted overwhelmingly to support their local library systems on election day. Thank you for that.

I’m reading a mighty fine book, “The Library - an Illustrated History” (Skyhorse Publishing) by Stuart A. P. Murray. I love it.

Can you ever get enough of a good library? Or for that matter, a good librarian? I can’t.

I was talking to our local librarian prior to Election Day. She was greatly distressed at the prospect of having to make further cuts should the library levy fail. Fortunately, it passed by a comfortable margin and some of the cuts, which had to be made due to state funding reductions, can now be restored. I am in awe of my local library. What they are able to provide and the real dedication of those who work and volunteer there is remarkable. They will always have my financial support. A good library manned by a committed staff is a foundational pillar in any community. I just hope that we never lose sight of that.

I agree with TRS, I take my little ones to the library weekly. I voted for them as well, even though I recalled Alice’s sarcastic post about conservatives and libraries. Maybe she’ll re post it for us?

Hey Vick - just wanted you to know that libraries are one public option conservatives can support (which I did).
