The odd couple-Sarah Palin and Oprah Winfrey…
Oprah Winfrey has the power to sell a lot of books on her TV show. Sarah Palin’s memoir, “Going Rogue” will be published next month. Winfrey has announced that Palin will appear on Oprah on November 16.
This is a marriage of mutual convenience. Winfrey was one of the most ardent supporters of Barack Obama. But Winfrey’s ratings are down and a Palin appearance will surely translate into big viewer numbers. Some of Oprah’s fans are really ticked off though…

I was referring to bloggers critical of Mrs Palin for appearing on Oprah, not critical of Oprah for inviting her on. I’m sure Mrs Palin is endorsing the conservative over the RINO, because she’s a conservative. Or perhaps she’s simply going rouge…

IG, I’m sure lots of bloggers have said a lot of things. I don’t think bloggers have much impact on Oprah’s scheduling. Hopefully she’ll ask Palin to explain her support for a Conservative Party candidate over a Republican in NY23’s special election.

I don’t watch Oprah. Why does she even continue her show? Certainly, she doesn’t need the money…Seems like Op would’ve found something that makes her happier by now. (Oh well, what do I know.)

Mark, I’ve read quite a few blogger’s and pundits saying since Oprah wouldn’t have Mrs Palin on during the campaign, she shouldn’t boost her ratings by appearing now.

In viewing some of the comments on Oprah’s website, there was a time when someone who came from a small town average middle class family, who got an education, participated in successful business ventures, rose to the level of Mayor, Govenor and VP nominee while at the same time raising four children, one serving in the Armed Forces, one pregnant out of wedlock and the other Special Needs, who hunted moose and fished, would have a story that many would like to hear, whether they agree with her politically or not. There was a day…

I think this just shows that Palin’s only values are the ones that put money in her pocket. Being on Oprah is huge for any author. On the other hand, will Oprah’s viewers actually buy a book that’s so substance-free? And will Palin’s fans see this as an affirmation, or a betrayal?
