I wish I was an Oscar statue winner…
I wish I was an Oscar statue winner….
That is what I truly long to be…ee..ee…
For if I was an Oscar statue winner…
Everyone would be in love with me.
(With apologies to the frankfurter people)
The presentation of the Academy Awards presents an opportunity for us to take a breather from the gloom and doom of Ponzi schemes and shattered Wall Street dreams. Hollywood Boulevard is a place where dreams can be forever magical. Movies are the stuff of fantasy and we can retreat into that blissful time warp with the click of a button…
I’m preparing myself by reading 80 Years of the Oscar - the Official History of the Academy Awards (Abbeville Press) by Robert Osborne. What a book!
It must weigh 10 pounds. It’s all here, a film lover’s dream. The stories. The movies. The stars. I’m starting to forget about all that bad stuff.
Now all I need are some snacks, some popcorn, candied almonds, a soft drink, and a hot dog. I gotta have a hot link! Ahhhhh, Hollywood.
