Jessica Seinfeld plagiarism

A few weeks ago in this blog I wondered about the new book by Jessica Seinfeld. She is married to Jerry Seinfeld. The book is selling like crazy. She did Oprah’s show-that really helped the book sell, but I had no idea what this publishing sensation was all about until I read an article today in the New York Times.

According to Allan Salkin, Ms. Seinfeld makes for a very interesting story:

This is how the article begins:

“THERE are three things people think they know about Jessica Seinfeld, the semipublic wife of the popular comedian:

  1. Nine years ago she dumped her first husband shortly after their honeymoon, in favor of the richer and more famous Jerry Seinfeld, whom she met at a gym.

  2. Recently she published a cookbook, “Deceptively Delicious,” and was accused of plagiarizing another writer’s recipes.

  3. After appearing on “The Oprah Winfrey Show” to publicize the book, Ms. Seinfeld sent the talk-show host a rather crass thank-you: 21 pairs of expensive high-heeled shoes.”

Wow! According to the article one of the most searched for terms on YAHOO these days is JESSICA SEINFELD PLAGIARISM.

It was the 21 pairs ofshoes that she gave to Oprah that really struck me. How did Jessica even know Oprah’s shoe size?? What do you give as a gift to a billionaire like Oprah for heaven’s sake? Jerry Seinfeld is merely a millionaire…probably close to a billionaire? That had to have been a toughie? Jessica must have called upon Imelda Marcos for advice? Oh yes, buy Oprah some shoes…lots of shoes…that’s what I would want…high heels…lots of those! Yesssss….Oprah will like that!

I don’t need to make this stuff up. The reality is about as bizarre as we could ever imagine.
