are you looking for some cheap vacation ideas?

These soaring gasoline prices are forcing some of us to reconsider our vacation plans-perhaps we might look at vacation destinations closer to home? Maybe take some day trips to find the wonders of Ohio?
There are two excellent new resource guides that might help you out with your vacation planning. “OFF THE BEATEN PATH OHIO-a Guide to Unique Places” by George and Carol Zimmerman (Insider’s Guide) is the 11th edition in this popular series.
It breaks out Ohio by regions and goes into quite a lot of detail. For instance, the authors cite their favorite destinations in SW Ohio and they pick some good ones: Hopewell Culture National Historical Park, Adena, 7 Caves Nature Preserve, Pike Lake State Park, Lake White Club, Fort Hill State Memorial, Shawnee State Park, Serpent Mound, Rankin House, Signal House, Cohearts Riverhouse, Grant’s Boyhood Home, Grant’s Birthplace and Valley Vineyards.
How many of those places have you ever visited? That’s just in SW Ohio. They cover the whole state!

Maybe you’d prefer a more metropolitan experience? “ The Insider’s Guide to Cincinnati” by Felix Winternitz and Sacha DeVroomen Bellman provides an in-depth overview of lots of cool things to do in that gorgeous town just down the road a piece.
The authors break the town down by neighborhoods and potential recreational activities. Categories include:
History, restaurants, nightlife, hotels and motels, bed-and-breakfasts, shopping, attractions, river fun, kidstuff, the arts, annual events, day trips, and so on.
It’s quite a guide. For information on these excellent resource guides check out www.insidersguide.com.

Please tell whomever that the Sunday best-sellers book list has been wrong for at least two weeks. The author of Rant is Chuck Palahniuk, not Stuart Woods.
