Spicebush

Spicebush Swallowtail is one of the butterflies that can be seen in the area. It has multiple generations, so look for the spicebush now until the end of September. It is one of the five Ohio butterflies that mimic the pipeline swallowtail. The host plant for this butterfly is spicebush or sassafras. The adult will nectar on many different types of flowers. They can be found in suburban gardens, wooded margins and old fields.
