Orange Sulphur Out and About

The Orange Sulphur is another of the early season butterflies. May reports that these butterflies are out and active. The color is really more yellow than orange. The wingspan is 1.6 to 2.4” with dark bands on the dorsal surface. These butterflies can be found in open sunny locations from home gardens, pastures, vacant lots and parks. The larval host plant is alfalfa, clover and vetches.
