What butterflies will We See?

What to expect this year for butterflies? Well, it might be too early to tell just yet. The weather has been cold but the rain fall has been about normal for this time of year. We are to have warmer conditions at the end of the week and this may move things along. The over wintering population in Mexico was slightly larger then expected, which is a good sign. However there has been frost in some of the southern states that the monarchs need to travel through. This could decrease the population as it moves north. The frost would damage the milkweed that the females lay eggs on. At this point in time we have to just wait to see what will happen. The pictures below are of some of the butterflies that can be seen this time of year.
