Skipper vs. Butterfly

Skippers are in the family Hesperiidae. They are a small to medium size butterfly. Skippers are usually brown, orange or white in color with compact wings, hooked antennae and hairy bodies. Their name may come from the erratic fast flight. Skippers number nearly 3,000 species worldwide with 250 in North America. You can see a couple of skippers below.
