Will There be Butterflies?

It is an important question each year. Will there be butterflies. It seems that the answer should be yes but that’s not always the case. Weather plays a big part in what will happen with the butterflies. If the spring is too wet or too clod and the plants that the caterpillars need are not available they won’t develop. If the migrating butterflies have poor weather conditions they won’t keep moving north. The butterflies will stay in the place that has food. If this happens year after year populations of butterflies will be great reduced. In the UK some populations are in such small numbers if they have another cold, wet spring there could be a permanent lose of butterflies. So keep an eye on the weather as well as the butterflies.
