A Sign of Spring

The Red Admiral is one of the first butterflies of spring. Last year there were not many to be found because of the wet spring conditions. Hopefully this spring will be a little better for the Red Admiral. These butterflies are in the brush-foot family which is the same as the Monarch. The larva will eat nettles and pellitory. The best place to find these butterflies would be in forest edges, roadsides, wetlands, meadows and gardens.
