Monarchs

Now is the time of year monarchs should be easy to spot in the gardens and prairies. The monarchs like many of the butterflies have been late to arrive in the area. This was due to the wet, cool spring that Dayton experienced this year. Now with the warm, sunny days the monarchs should be coming out into the garden. Monarchs are probably the best know of the butterflies, they capture our interest because of the migration they take each year. You can learn more about the migration atwww.monarchwatch.org

If you have milkweed look for the caterpillars on the underside of the leaves.
