Yellow-breasted Chats at Sugarcreek
It’s been a very long time since this beautiful warbler nested at Sugarcreek MetroPark. The park’s prairie, surrounded by forest edge, is perfect habitat for the species. There are two pairs nesting in the prairie, one right next to the parking lot! Listen for the random blips of whistles and raspy sounds of the male, and catch a glimpse of his deep yellow-orange breast! Birders wanting to get a close view of this species are encouraged to hike the handicap accessible prairie loop, or the yellow trail through the prairie. Photo by Dan Voydanoff, 2008.
