Eastern Black Swallowtail like Bronze Fennel

Yesterday, I received the following note and pictures from one of our park goers, Saundra Altman.

“We are the proud parents of four (so far) Eastern Black Swallowtail teenage caterpillars and one baby. It took us three years to clear the yard of the poison ivy and debris from twenty-five years of neglect and this year is our first planned garden. We planted three bronze fennels and the caterpillars are munching away on all three.”

Thanks for sharing your good fortune, Saundra. To everyone else - keep the butterfly sightings coming!
