Bengals and Steelers getting drafty with receivers

The Cincinnati Bengals will be searching for a big target receiver in the late rounds of the draft. Baylor wide receiver David Gettis, a former track athlete, has the size and speed the team desire. I’m hearing from inside sources that the player is one who the Bengals will be keeping an eye on.

The team is also showing interest in Bowling Green do-it-all receiver Freddie Barnes. Cincinnati could have their own version of Josh Cribbs should they land Barnes in the draft.

The Pittsburgh Steelers last year drafted speed receiver Mike Wallace to stretch the field. It appears that the team is looking to add another deep-threat receiver in this year’s draft.

The Steelers will host South Florida speedster Carlton Mitchell who is visiting Pittsburgh today. Mitchell is moving up draft boards like George and Weezy after blazing the track at his Pro Day running a 4.40 in the 40-yard dash. The Steelers have competition for Mitchell’s services: Cleveland, Tennessee, Oakland, Tampa Bay, Cincinnati, Denver, Baltimore, St. Louis and New Orleans are also showing interest.

You folks at DDN really need to get on the Austin Spitler (Bellbrook HS/Ohio State). This kid is gonna get drafted. His pro day numbers were fantastic, and he has had meetings with several teams. Look for him to go in the 4th to 6th rounds. Its a real shame that the DDN is unaware of this story!!!

MDOG, Spitler will not be drafted any higher than the 6th round if at all. His pro day numbers were good except for his slow 40 time. If Marcus Freeman didn’t get drafted until the 5th round I doubt Spitler even gets drafted.

Big C: Glad you talked to Spit! I know he is very excited….glad to see you are on top of it…I think everyone is gonna be suprised by his draft results. Good to see DDN is finally with this story…especially since he has family working for the Cox Corp.

I think that the Bengals have the talent to get the job done! I think that they need to expand on their talent and not limit it! I think that Palmer is a good QB! Get him some time in the pocket and then I think he can do just about any thing! He needs a line that can block for him! In the past, it has been pass and go, but he needs more time in the pocket and without a line to do that, its a sack every time!He needs more recievers because evidently one reciever isn’t getting it done!More talent should be looked at and drafted into this season to come! I don’t know about T.O coming to the bengals but it would problaly make for some drama! If any thing can be said, I think the Bengals have a good chance this coming season if the right choices are made in the draft and the coaching staff

A few years ago (when I was a younger smarter agent) I went to see a overhyped kid from Long Beach poly high school in CA play against some suburban kids from Mission Valley High School. I knew the kid was a flop when his team the great LBP football team lost. I had no interest in following the career and ultimately attempting to sign this overrated kid despite his Pittsburgh native fathers (now deceased RIP) assurance that despite his size he had the heart and toughness of a Pittsburgh guy. Given my Western PA upbringing (native of Erie PA) I knew what he meant but there is no way this skinny kid who lost to the suburban fellows could live up to the hype..I watched the game from the sideline with a good friend and former agent consultant Thurston Reece, the young mans father and Long Beach Rapper Warren G in close proximity. Ill pass. The QB and the kids from the other team look dominant so how good can this kid beperhaps he will be a better baseball player. My apologies Mr. Bill Jacksons baby boy Deshawn is thrilling fans in Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, Erie, all of Western PA, Long Beach, Orange County and everywhere football is watched and appreciated. I respect scouts and now realize that agents, coaches, trainers and scouts have specific roles as professionals to do what they doa costly lesson learned indeed. I recently lost my father I wish Mr. Deshawn Jackson much success and I am sure his dad is his number one fan forever. I was recently informed by an industry insider and a hall of fame caliber retired player about a kid that has it. I was informed and subsequently confirmed that the young man has some unique ability and significant football skills, speed, quickness and intangibles that will make him a quality dynamic NFL player. Rarely do I see comparisons to Reggie Bush and Deshawn Jackson that have any credibility. In this instance Mr. Guillory was in fact one of the top prospects in the country and fastest players in the state of CA.the young man was recruited by USC and several other top schools. He ended up being under the radar despite having a great career while attending junior college Solano College and D2 Univ of Central Missouri. Given my Long Beach doubts I agreed to investigate and watch film. They say a picture is worth 1000 words so I went to youtube..I signed WR-KR-RB Bobby Guillory yesterday and thanked the folks who referred him. After a recent workout with the 49ers the secret is out. I attended the SR Bowl, East West Shrine Game, Several Pro Days and I was in Indy for the combine related events etc. I am not a scout yet Bobby Guillory is as good an athlete as any player that will have his name called at the NFL draft in NYC. The beauty of the internet is that you do not have to believe me film is the great source of independent confirmation. Feel Free to youtube Arthur Gamble Bobby Guillory.
