Bengals may finally get safety back
The Bengals have cleared safety Tom Nelson to return to practice on a roster exemption, according to a press release from the team.
Nelson has been on the Reserve/Physically Unable to Perform list because of a knee injury he suffered in last year’s final regular-season game.
This week marks the start of a three-week window during which Nelson may practice without being counted against the 53-player roster limit. His status is eligible to be changed at any point during the window, and it must be determined by the end of the window.

TweetBengal named NFL’s most overrated player
Cincinnati’s Terrell Owens is the NFL’s most overrated player, according to a poll conducted by Sports Illustrated and reported on by various media outlets this week.
The magazine surveyed more than 200 NFL players and 14 percent had Owens at the top of their list. He was followed by Dallas QB Tony Romo (7 percent), Jets QB Mark Sanchez (5 percent), Washington DT Albert Haynesworth (5 percent) and Giants QB Eli Manning (4 percent).
Given T.O.’s career numbers - and his production this season - I can’t say that I agree.
Owens moved into second place on the all-time receiving list after catching 10 passes for 222 yards against the Browns and now trails only Jerry Rice (22,895 yards) on the all-time list.
Clearly long-term Owens is not overrated.
Short-term, the doubters who said he was washed up are being proven wrong too.
T.O. has been one of the lone bright spots in the Cincinnati offense this season. He ranks 5th in the league in receiving yards per game and 9th in yards after catch.
So who would I pick as most overrated?
My focus tends to be on the the best division in football, the AFC North.
Players come to mind like Baltimore QB Joe Flacco (mistake-prone), Pittsburgh WR Hines Ward (NFL’s dirtiest player as well) and Ravens safety Ed Reed (product of a great defense and scheme).
Who’s on your list as most overrated in the NFL?
