Vic season has ‘Idiot,’ ‘Shrek,’ ‘Normal,’ ‘Poppins’
The Victoria Theatre Association has announced a 2012-13 season that will feature local premieres of the musicals “American Idiot,” “Next to Normal,” “Mary Poppins,” “Shrek” and “The Addams Family.”
Announced Monday, Feb. 13, the lineup includes a six-show Broadway Series and four Star Attractions.
Dates and titles in the Broadway package are:
Nov. 27-Dec. 2: “Irving Berlin’s White Christmas.”
Jan. 15-27, 2013: “Shrek The Musical.”
March 5-10, 2013: “The Addams Family.”
April 16-21, 2013: “Mary Poppins.”
May 7-19, 2013: “Next to Normal” (produced by Dayton’s Human Race Theatre Company).
June 4-9, 2013: “Dreamgirls.”
Single-show Star Attractions, which will go on sale first to series subscribers, will include:
Sept. 23: “An Evening With Branford Marsalis.”
Oct. 12-14: “Menopause: The Musical.”
March 12-14, 2013: “Green Day’s American Idiot.”
May 21-22, 2013: the musical “Rock of Ages.”
