Tesh bringing band to Fraze

Fraze Amphitheatre in Kettering has announced the first concert on its 2012 summer season: the John Tesh Big Band at 8 p.m. on Friday, July 27.

Along with his compositions, the 12-member orchestra will perform classics from the 1940s and ’50s — tunes like “Beyond the Sea,” “A Summer Wind” and “I’ve Got the World on a String.”

Tickets go on sale at 9 a.m. Saturday, January 21, at the Fraze box office, online through Etix at www.etix.com, or Charge-by-Phone at (800) 514-3849. Prices are $50 for the plaza, $40 for the center orchestra (sections B and C), $35 for orchestra side sections A and D, and $25 for the lawn and terrace.

Fraze tickets are no longer available through Ticketmaster or at Ticketmaster.com.

Box office hours through February are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Fridays, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturdays and noon to 3 p.m. Sundays. Fraze is located at 695 Lincoln Park Blvd. For more details, go to www.fraze.com.

Well I hope police keep the TeshHeads under control. They are a wild group of AARPers that will trash our neighborhoods with their Caddies, wine bottles and polo shirts.

Maybe he’ll play Roundball Rock. People my age remember that as the theme music to the NBA on NBC back in the ’90s. It’s one of the best pieces of sports-centric music ever.

The Fraze wants the sedate and nearly comatose audience since the staff is nearly as old as the acts on stage.
