FilmDayton moves fest to August

FilmDayton has scheduled its 2012 film festival for Aug. 24-26, a shift from previous years when the event was in May.

The date is seen as a natural kickoff for the fall arts season and less of a conflict with a typically jammed spring schedule.

FilmDayton has also named several new board members: Basim Blunt, multimedia Instructor at Dayton Business Technology High School and Media Arts Ministry Leader at Omega Baptist Church; Bryan J. Bucklew, president of the Greater Dayton Area Hospital Association; David Temmesfeld, multimedia editor at Reynolds and Reynolds and a filmmaker; Andrew Estevez, television production specialist for the City of Dayton’s Office of Public Affairs and owner of Plastic Image LLC; Nicole Richter, motion pictures area coordinator and assistant professor at Wright State University; and Terry Welker, architect, sculptor and chief building official for the City of Kettering.

They join board chair Ron Rollins, associate editor at Cox Media Group; Shaunn Baker, managing partner at World Stage Media; Steven Bognar, independent filmmaker and media arts educator; Neenah Ellis, general manager at WYSO; Lisa Grigsby, special events director at ARC Ohio; and Karri O’Reilly, producer/DGA production manager.
