‘Jersey Boys,’ ‘Wicked’ top Victoria lineup
Local premieres of the musicals “Jersey Boys” and “Mel Brooks’ Young Frankenstein,” and the return of “Wicked” will highlight the Victoria Theatre Association’s 2011-12 Broadway Series.
Announced Tuesday, Feb. 22, in the Wintergarden of the Schuster Center, the lineup will also include the world premiere of “Tenderly: The Rosemary Clooney Musical,” co-produced by Dayton’s Human Race Theatre; the one-woman show “Wishful Drinking,” starring Carrie Fisher, and the dance/acrobatics showcase “Traces.”
Now on sale, season tickets are $244 to $542 for the six productions. Single seats are not yet available.
The VTA also announced three Star Attractions — separate offerings that are not part of the Broadway series: musicals “Les Miserables,” “Monty Python’s Spamalot” and an evening with humorist and best-selling author David Sedaris.
Only series subscribers can buy seats for those shows until later.
