Multi-arts project seeks students

The Blue Sky Project, a Dayton-based artist residency and youth collaborative, is seeking student participants for 2011.

Incoming high school freshmen through graduating seniors are eligible to apply for the opportunity to create new works of contemporary art. Past showcases have included painting, dance, video, music and creative writing.

Artists from around the world have been brought in to work with students on every phase from concept through execution.

Up to 40 students will be chosen from throughout the area. There is no cost. Acceptance is not based on auditions or portfolios. The project will cover eight weeks.

Application deadline is April 11. More information is available at www.blueskydayton.org.

As a 2009 student artist (college graduate assistant to the resident artist), I highly recommend the Blue Sky Project. This is a top tier arts program, and we’re incredibly lucky to have it in Dayton.
