New short spotlights Dayton

The Neon Movies has scheduled screenings of “Falling Up,” a stop-action short film by area native Djuna Wahlrab that features local architecture and an opening live-animated scene shot in downtown Dayton.

It will play before the Academy Award-nominated “The Illusionist” in the 3 and 7:30 p.m. slots between Friday, Feb. 11, and Thursday, Feb. 17. The Neon is located at 130 E. Fifth St., Dayton.

Wahlrab, a working filmmaker and graduate of Stivers School for the Arts who lives in New York, will open a gallery exhibit of sets and puppets from her film later in February at Stivers.
